General Information

Since 2003, adoption of the Freedom of Information Law FOICA has conducted trainings for more than 5000 persons in all regions of Armenia and Yerevan. Only last year from April 2009-2010, 1700 officials received knowledge and skills on the FOI legislation, as well as on how to apply the electronic documentation system "Mulberry" for providing transparency. FOICA also trains local media and NGO representatives, lawyers, teachers, students and community leaders on how to use the FOI legislation for exercising their other rights. Through trainings and workshops FOICA educates citizens, media, NGO and political parties’ representatives, government officials, legal advocates, students, and academia to enhance their knowledge on access to information issues. The trainings are conducted by the assistance of the USAID/Armenia.
