Media Defence has today filed a case at the Strasbourg court on behalf of four Armenian citizens following the bombing of the town of Martuni by Azerbaijani forces during the recent armed conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh. The applicants - three journalists who were injured and the brother of a journalist fixer who was killed - allege that as a result of this attack their rights under the European Convention on Human Rights were violated by Azerbaijan.

FOICA vs. Nurnus Village Council

On January 16, 2006 the FOICA Kotayk regional lawyer Mr. Robert Ghazaryan applied to the head of Nurnus village Mr. G. Mkrtchyan requesting to provide information about citizens who had received lands for constructing summer cottages. Not receiving any reply from G. Mkrtchyan, the FOICA lawyer petitioned to the first instance court of Kotayk region. On March 14, 2006, during the first court hearing the claim of FOICA was fully satisfied. On March 21, 2006 the head of Nurnus village G. Mkrtchyan provided the requested information.
