23.08.2019 Prison Sentence for "the Spread of Hate Speech"
On August 14, the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia published a draft law on Making Addendum to the Criminal Code of RA on the unified website of the publication of draft legal acts. Professional journalism organizations find it necessary to report that the proposed arrangements are highly controversial, devoid of legal certainty and may therefore lead to the following unjustified limitation of the right to freedom of expression.

31.07.2019 FOICA Sub-Grant Projects have Launched
Within the framework of INFORMED ARMENIA project run by Freedom of Information Center NGO, 13 Yerevan-based and regional NGOs and media organisations will implement sub-grant projects during the upcoming 4 months for the institutional development of one's capacity in the public interest.

02.04.2019 FOICA Sub-Grant Projects have Launched
Within the framework of INFORMED ARMENIA project run by Freedom of Information Center NGO, 10 Yerevan-based and regional NGOs and media organisations will implement 10 sub-grant projects during the upcoming 4 months in different spheres of public administration aiming to monitor and publicize the state budget expenses, as well as develop dialog between civil society and the government.
